Job Description
Applications are invited for the position of Educational Researcher in the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada. The full time position includes affiliation with the Wilson Centre for Research in Education.

The Educational Researcher will develop an independent research program in education and serve as a resource for advancing educational scholarship in the department. The successful candidate will be a scholar with expertise in educational research; s/he will have the breadth to catalyze research in all areas of education and be an effective teacher deeply committed to excellence in education. S/he must have the leadership qualities and skills necessary to serve a geographically dispersed department, while fostering an environment of cooperation and collaboration locally, nationally, and internationally.

Requirements
Research and Scholarly Activity: The candidate is expected to lead a program of research in a primary area of specialty in health professions education. Expectations include: Obtaining external peer-reviewed funding for research; Publishing in top-level peer-reviewed journals; Presenting research results at local, national and international meetings; Teaching and/or supervising graduate students;Engaging with the community of educational researchers at the Wilson Centre for Research in Education

Fostering Educational Scholarship in the Department: The candidate is expected to participate in activities that support the Department’s mission of enhancing educational scholarship. Expectations include: Meeting with faculty members engaged in educational research to provide consultation and support;Collaborating with faculty members as a co-investigator on selected research projects where applicable; Participation on the Education Executive Committee; Participation on the Department’s Clinician Educator Training Program (CETP),including shared mentorship and supervision of CETP fellows

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and be eligible for academic appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
