Job Description
Director, Academic Affairs : Administer all processes related to the human resource management of approximately 1600 academic personnel including faculty, other academic personnel and postdoctoral appointees within the Division of the Biological Sciences. Facilitate communication between Offices of the Provost, Office of the Dean and Chairs/departments related to academic personnel in clinical departments, basic science departments, interdisciplinary committees, affiliated hospital and off-site facilities. Provide analysis and recommendations on trends related to recruitment, appointment, promotion and salary issues. Monitor compliance with all Federal/State/University and Divisional statutes, policies and practices. Manage the administrative staff for the Office of Academic Affairs.

Requirements
Master's degree or Bachelor's degree and five years related work experience required; minimum of five years experience within an academic institution preferred; strong skills at negotiation and facilitation of results required; strong verbal and written communication skills required; knowledge of biomedical science, academic affairs/human resource management, business law, or immigration regulations preferred; prior experience demonstrating ability to work within complex organizational relationships required; knowledge of Affirmative Action and Employer Equal Opportunity programs required; familiarity with federal and non-federal grants preferred.
