The University of Wisconsin Madison Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Allergist at the assistant professor level. This will be a tenure track position; candidates of interest should have either an active, funded research program, or strong interest in developing such. Candidates should be board certified in Pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in allergy & immunology.
The new 60-bed American Family Children's Hospital, opened in August 2007, is the only facility in Madison exclusively devoted to the care and treatment of children. It receives tertiary referrals from throughout the state where pediatricians from every subspecialty practice. The division of pediatric allergy, immunology and rheumatology has a complement of 6.5 faculty FTEs; the department of pediatrics has 108 faculty. The University is known for a beautiful lakeside setting, a top-rate record federal research funding and excellence in teaching both at the undergraduate level and in the Medical School. The city of Madison (pop. 200,000) boasts a high quality of life including the state capitol, excellent schools, fine residential areas, low crime, clean air and abundant recreational and cultural opportunities.
