The University of Central Florida College of Medicine is seeking applications from outstanding clinician-educators in Neurology to join faculty building this century’s premier medical school. Faculty will collaborate in development of the four-year curriculum; teaching in the practice of medicine, physical diagnosis, and organ-based systems modules; development of innovative teaching technologies and simulations; and development of a neurology GME program. Faculty will also provide clinical service through the Clinical Faculty Practice and other local practice opportunities. Important concepts such as patient-centered and multidisciplinary care, preventive medicine, wellness, evidence-based medicine, palliative care, geriatrics and patient safety will be emphasized throughout the curriculum.

As part of the “Medical City” at Lake Nona which is currently under construction, just east of the Orlando International Airport, the College of Medicine takes residence on the UCF Health Sciences Campus among the Burnham Institute for Medical Research, Nemours Children’s Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Institute and the VA Medical Center Orlando.

Requirements

Candidates must be board certified in an ABMS specialty; the exception is physicians who have just completed training. Candidates must be eligible for licensure or licensed to practice in the State of Florida. Applicants should have significant teaching and clinical experience, and evidence of teaching excellence. Experience as a course or clerkship director, residency or fellowship program director is beneficial.
