The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine is seeking applications from outstanding clinician-educators in Psychiatry at all ranks to serve as faculty on a team building this century’s premier medical college. Faculty will collaborate in the development of the four year curriculum, with a focus on sychopathology during the organ-based systems modules, the psychiatry clerkship, and the teaching of communication skills and psychosocial issues in healthcare. The development of innovative teaching technologies and simulations is encouraged. Faculty will also be expected to spend a portion of time in clinical practice. Important concepts such as patient-centered and multidisciplinary care, preventive medicine, wellness, evidence-based medicine, geriatrics and patient safety will be emphasized throughout the curriculum.

The University of Central Florida has grown to be the nation’s fourth-largest university and has demonstrated excellence in technology, science, and simulation. The College of Medicine has received preliminary accreditation by the LCME and admitted its charter class on August 3, 2009. The college will educate individuals to become exemplary physicians, leaders in medicine, scholars in science, innovators in medical technology and compassionate providers of health care.

Requirements
Candidates must be board certified in psychiatry and eligible for licensure or licensed to practice in the State of Florida. Applicants should have teaching and clinical experience, and evidence of teaching excellence. Experience as a course or clerkship director, residency or fellowship program director is beneficial.
