Company Profile

Company Overview

The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, in a little more than 60 years, has grown to become an internationally recognized leader in medical education, research, patient care and community engagement—a remarkable achievement for an institution that is among the youngest of the most elite medical schools in the country. Since opening its doors in 1951, the School has become a leading biomedical research center. It comprises 23 departments with numerous divisions and organized research units; the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA; and the world-renowned Stein Eye Institute. It is located on the same campus as its principal teaching hospital, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, continually ranked “Best in the West” by U.S. News & World Report’s annual survey, and within which are housed Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA and the Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Other affiliated teaching hospitals include UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica; Harbor-UCLA Medical Center; and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. The new Geffen Hall, scheduled to open in 2016, will be a gateway to the medical campus of UCLA and the community at large.
