Consistent with the goals and objectives of the University of Arizona’s “Never Settle” strategic plan, the College of Medicine – Phoenix seeks to advance its academic profile.

The March 1, 2015 completion of the 30-year academic affiliation agreement between the University of Arizona and Banner Health, provides a unique opportunity to further the growth of the College of Medicine-Phoenix through the development of robust and academically oriented departments.

The College offers students experience working with clinical partners including Banner Health.
Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMC-P) is a nationally-known teaching hospital for future physicians. BUMC-P is a 733 bed, Level 1 Trauma facility: as one of the largest and most comprehensive facilities in Arizona, it provides a full complement of subspecialties including cardiac care, transplant services, oncology, high-risk obstetrics, CARF certified stroke, head injury and general inpatient rehabilitation, epilepsy center, Alzheimer’s Institute, 21 outpatient clinics on campus in primary and specialty care. BUMC-P has been cited for 12 years as one of America’s “Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report and is consistently rated as a “Best Place to Work” in Arizona. Banner Health and University of Arizona Health Network have come together to form Banner – University Medicine, a health system providing the highest level of care accessible to Arizona residents. The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix anchors the 28-acre Phoenix Biomedical Campus in the heart of the Valley of the Sun. The College of Medicine - Phoenix is a full, four-year program based in downtown Phoenix focused on training individuals to become exemplary physicians, scientists and leaders.

This College is part of the University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS), a network of health-related organizations and activities unique in the state and region. UAHS is based in Tucson and maintains a growing presence in downtown Phoenix. UAHS reaches across the state of Arizona to provide health-care education, research, patient care and service for Arizonans.
